My First Heli Ride

If there is one thing I love doing, it is trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone. After meeting Oli the other week, I mentioned that I had been wanting to get some aerial shots for ages and riding in a helicopter was at the top of my bucket list.

Next minute I know, I am booked in for my first flight with Sydney Heli Tours.

The plan was to fly over Sydney first thing on Sunday morning with Oli and his friend Adam AKA @thedroneman. Since Oli has flown several times, with Brett (our pilot), he knew all the best spots and organised for us to fly out over Maroubra, Bondi, Manly and then back through Sydney Harbour.

After being inspired by some of my favourite aerial/drone photographers, (I've included a few of my fav's at the end of this post) I really wanted to capture my own photos of Sydney's gorgeous, turquoise beaches and the city skyline, so I hope you enjoy my shots below!

This was without a doubt the ultimate way to get a different perspective of the place I call home, and I highly recommend you add it to your bucket list!

BTW if you're ever in Cronulla, make sure you check out Blackwood Pantry. The entire fit out is what you would call industrial chic, with polished concrete floors, exposed ceilings, bold accessories and pastel-hinted finishes. The interior is designed by Luchetti Krelle, which is one of the most sought-after firms in Sydney’s hospitality scene + the food is actually to-die-for! (We ordered the hearty chicken salad and sweet potato fries)

A huge thank you to Brett at Sydney Heli Tours for having us on board and for being such a cool pilot! Hopefully I'll be able to continue to reach new heights (literally) and share the world from an interesting view!

Stay Inspired
