R34 Wheel Alignment @ Heasman's
For almost 2 years now I have desperately needed a wheel alignment. I know, I know! 2 years is a long time to be driving a car each day that pulls slightly to the left, but I had become used to it and I was yet to find an affordable, low car friendly workshop that was close by to home that I could trust with my car.
As I had to drop my parents out to the airport, I decided to call up Brad Heasman to see if he could squeeze me in for a quick alignment on my R34. Heasman's is located about 10 minutes from the airport and I've known Brad for around 5 years now (we started hanging out around the same time I developed a passion for cars), and so after a quick "Sup bro, I'm in your hood" he said "Bring me a coffee, I'll see you in 10!"
BTW a huge hi to Tyler who spotted me outside the terminal at the airport! Both my car and I surprisingly have been spotted by quite a few people lately (especially on Snapchat) which really blows my mind. This guy was travelling all the way from Canada and mentioned how he follows me on Instagram! It's crazy knowing that I have followers from all around the world, and that my stickers travel so far each day, with majority going to Canada! A huge thanks to those who rep the stickers internationally and are spreading the love and positive vibes - your ongoing support means the world to me, and I love meeting you guys in person!
Arriving at Heasman Steering and Suspension (without the coffee - sorry Brad!) I parked my car in the customer area and headed into the shop to say hi. Brad was chatting with Chris, who is a technician at Heasman's, and would be looking after my car.
After handing the keys over to Chris, I watched as he carefully drove my car onto the state-of-the-art aligning machine. The guys at Heasman's are car enthusiasts themselves so they know how to take good care of your pride and joy.
Whilst Chris got my car set-up I went for a quick wonder around the complex. There is always something cool at the workshop, like this brand new red Huracan and this 500kw, sequential gearbox equipped R35 GTR track weapon.
After day dreaming about what it would be like to drive the GTR around the track, I made my way back inside as I was intrigued to see how Chris was going with my car.
The ‘Snap-On’ machine used to align my car is the latest and most up-to-date machine in the country.
With live 3D images, this machine provides all necessary live measurements with pinpoint digital accuracy. Wheel base measurements and wheel-offset position are also taken to eliminate any error in measurement and to give us readings accurate to the very last decimal.
It amazes me how this cutting edge machine allows for setups of all applications, whether for street (which is what I got), off-road or race circuit. Being digitally controlled, the computer creates the fastest readings, making the subsequent wheel alignment very precise.
Once Chris gave me a quick rundown on the results he gave it a quick test drive then handed the keys back and I was good to go!
