The Road Home from Vegas

Being in Vegas for less than 24 hours you would expect to visit copious amounts of casino's and strip clubs, however Trevor and I had other plans...

We were only there for a couple of hours for the Targa Trophy rally and wanted to explore the city and architecture before embarking on our day long journey back to Newport Beach.

We checked out of the hotel around 10AM and headed down the strip.

We then went into the Cosmopolitan and the Venetian before leaving Vegas and getting breakfast.

The night before I stumbled across this amazing cafe called Craft Kitchen on IG and almost died when I saw their menu.

I am a huge sucker for salmon and eggs benedict, so I ordered that, and Trevor ordered the turkey burger with a side of sweet potato fries.

Not going to lie but the 'salmon benny' was undoubtedly the yummiest breakfast that I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was that good that I practically licked the bowl after (and drizzled it all over the sweet potato fries 💁🏼) If it wasn't all the way out in Vegas I'd probably order it everyday.

We also got two mimosa's which really complemented the food nicely. I got the pomegranate flavour and Trevor got the blood orange and they were both so yummy (we always share so we can see what we like better). I never had a mimosa until I came to the US and now Trevor and I are hooked 💃🏼🥂

Since we had a long drive back, and the traffic was insanely bad given that it was a Sunday and everyone was heading back home from a big weekend in Vegas, we took a few stops along the way, including this weird alien cafe.

After that we took a turn off the Zzyzx and got the drone out to get some aerials.

It was disgustingly hot (so much so that the drone overheated and wigged out) and we only had one bottle of Core left so we got back on the road and headed for the nearest gas station to buy some refreshments before continuing our journey back home.

I couldn't believe how diverse the landscapes were, and if it wasn't so hot outside I would have explored some more.

Lucky there is always next time!
